R.D. Gorden / Randy Dreammaker 2025 Music and Songs

R.D. Gorden Music (Artist: Randy Dreammaker)

In 2025 I returned to music and lyric writing in a big way.  I'd been living in hotels and motels across the U.S. since 2024 after my first eye surgery. By June 2025 I had undergone seven eye surgeries, three of them considered major eye surgeries, leaving me partially blind all year, unable to drive my car or motorcycle, unable to see well enough to walk a few blocks most of 2025.

Then there was the Pasadena/Altadena Fires. I was staying at a hotel one block away from the evacuation zone, I couldn't leave because I'd booked the room for several weeks in advance.  Half the city burned down with lots of people killed.  Friends lost everything they had.  Smoke and ash poured into my room and the air purifier I had with me wasn't helping much. I was cold and I couldn't use the wall heater because it would suck in ash.  When my booked time expired I immediately evacuated several cities south.

In April I was meeting with a friend for dinner. I asked about my  good friend Mai-Ling.  She was a mutual friend of many years. I hadn't heard from her for a while and she stopper responding on Facebook.  That's when he dropped the bomb on me, that several days before the fires started in January, she had taken her life.   This was an amazing Christian woman, but lost the fight.

I was meeting with my brother about two weeks later telling him how mad I was that no one told me until April, about Mai-Lings death.  That's when he dropped the bomb on my that on me that a mutual friend of outs, wife died right before the fires.

Then my close friends father passed away, sending him into chaos. His father was an awesome man, cared about him very much.

Meanwhile, I was stuck within a 7 mile radius, moving every two to four weeks from one hotel or motel to the next, while having doctors appointments and surgeries.

I could pour on a whole lot more poop here, but I think you get the point. That said, what I didn't realize, was that being mostly blind would cause my creative musical talents to explode.

I'd been involved in music since my childhood, wrote lots of poopy songs, played some of them live, even in Japan, but it was usually short periods of time, and writing lyrics was really difficult for me.

I had heard that blind people often have exceptional abilities musically and I observed it, but really didn't understand it.

Then, while sitting in a motel room unable to do anything because I couldn't see. I decided to play some music via my computer.  All my synthesizers were in storage and my guitars were (still are) at my brothers house in his closet so they didn't get heat damaged in storage.

That day I wrote some lyrics and they were the best lyrics I'd ever written, also the fastest and easiest.
So I wrote another song and used my computer to put it to a tune.  Next thing I knew, I was writing songs every few days, then instrumentals.

By October 2025 I had the biggest catalog of music in my lifetime. I've written more lyrics and tunes in 2025 that all the past years combined.

I had a lot of my old music online and I went back to listen to them and they sounded really low quality, poor lyrics and composition, so I pulled most of them off the streaming services.

Then I began releasing some of the early 2025 music. They were still a little janky, but better than the old stuff.  I shared some of my best early songs with a few people I know and they thought they were commercially viable, so I kept those offline until I take those through licensing and distribution.

I never imagined being near blind would have such a big impact on my creativity, and though my vision has been improving, the creative mental flux hasn't diminished.  It probably will as I become more and more able to work on non-music projects. I have a years worth of files and data entry to catch up on.  Writing lyrics had been easy due to the amazing Text to Speech tool on my smart-phone and magnification tools on my laptop.  Unfortunately, neither of my accessibility tools or magnifying glasses made it possible to do work I need to do.

Here is a list of all the songs, instrumentals and collaborative songs and music I have currently.  Some still need some work. Most are at a final stage needing mastering. I thank God for the musical gifts he gave me, I never knew how valuable they would become in 2025.

I will attempt to update the list with any new songs or music over the final months of 2025.  This list is honestly more for my benefit, to help me keep track of all the songs.  I had no idea how long this list would be, because when you're isolated, time either goes by really slow or super fast. Fortunately for me, it's been super fast, never rarely boring, despite being in the same place all day, everyday for months at a time.

About the songs. The lyrics were written during different times and life moments. Songs about friends and family passing away, songs from dreams, reflective songs as I processed life events back to my early childhood, fun songs, new genre's I'd always wanted to explore but never previously had the time.

Titles of every songs/Music and Collaboration I've written, co-wrote, remixed, collaborated on from February to October 2025.

(Already released songs/music have an Asterix in front)
