Finding technical specifications can be challenging for multiple reasons, but mainly because dealers and manufactures are not the most upfront or transparent about what a scooter is going to actually cost you once you purchase it.
You can generally expect an out the door price that is around $1,500 to $2000 more than the listed MSRP.
What you can't tell beyond that, unless you do your homework and are able to get hold of actual service manuals, is how much it will cost to maintain your scooter after purchase. For a small bike like a 2022 Piaggio Liberty 150 or Honda PCX 150, you may be surprised to discover that the Piaggio Liberty 150 ultimately cost less to maintain, because the Honda PCX requires a valve clearance check with every service.
The first service at around 600 miles on both scooters will be pricey, because they both include a valve clearance check by the actual dealer.
Pros of the Piaggio Liberty include a higher maximum weight capacity than the Honda PCX. If you intend to carry luggage, packages, or a passenger on your scooter, the Piaggio is a much better option.
Price wise, the difference is small enough in between that it's not much of a consideration unless you are super broke.
Both advertise the ability to carry a full size helmet, but what they do not mention is you have to have a small head. A normal large adult sized helmet will not fit.
Both come with engine immobilization keys.
For the sake of a real comparison, the included specs are the Honda PCX model with ABS brakes, since it is standard on the Piaggio Liberty 150. You will pay around $1,000 over the price of the Piaggio Liberty 150 to get the ABS front brakes on the Honda PCX.
